Things found...

Hallie started school on Tuesday and she LOVES it. Well, it's really that she has an awesome teacher and he is going to make this a fun, FUN year!

For part of her homework today, she needed to find 5 things that she likes or enjoys. The VERY first thing she did was find a picture of Ryan. She went straight to his memory box and pulled out his funeral program. I asked her if she really wanted to take that or find a picture of him instead. She wanted a picture of just him... so she goes right over to my nightstand and gets this framed picture:
She wanted THIS one. Not any others... THIS one.
She kept saying as she held the picture, "oh I LOVE my Daddy! I just LOVE him!"

I TOTALLY agree, I love him AND this picture too!

As I was in her room tonight getting her ready for bed, I found this old journal from last school year...
...and on the cover I read:
This pulled on my heartstrings, but I really do love what she wrote...
"hes grat (he's great). You are the best. xox"

It's SO true!

~Missing and loving you ALWAYS~

So sweet. I like that picture of Ryan too, he looks super young! Like he's in Jr. high. I'm glad that the first thing Hallie thought of was her dad.

My first thought was that I don't know how you do it. That was quickly answered by your sweet little girl and your faith.

I love that the first thing she wanted to bring was a reminder of her daddy. He is still a part of her life everyday. I love that she can remind the rest of us to have an eternal perspective.

What a heart wrenching little journal entry from such a young girl. I am sure this last year was so hard on her, but I really believe as I read the things she says to you, and see her neverending smile, that Heavenly Father is holding her very close through this, and that she feels it. I hope you feel it too, Margie. Love you!

How bitter sweet. Hallie is so cute. It's so much easier to understand things and accept them when you're young. She will be your rock and you for her.
Both the kids love their dad so much. At the funeral when Marianne was lookin for Hallie to give her the coloring book, Max walked passed the TV and looked at marianne (while using his thumb to point over his shoulder) and says "that's my dad" and just the way he said it, the look on his face, everything expressed how much love there was for him and how proud he was of his dad. Even at such a young age he knew so much. It was great and touching and made me have watery eyes :)
You are raising two very special spririts! Love you!

You don't even know me and I knew your husband a little bit from Highschool but I follow your blog and I want you to know what an insipration you are to me you are such an amazing person so strong and just an outstanding individual as your husband was. You can tell in all his pictures just the beautiful aura that is around him along with his bright beautiful blue eyes. You definately make me slap myself when I feel my day is going bad or whatever and you help me pick myself to keep going as it is nothing compared to what you have gone through and are going through. Again you and your family are amazing and always remember that and tell yourself that everyday!!!!

Really nice things shared here. I like it. His hand writing really strange but expressed his feelings. Other things which are found by him are looking really good.
